January 2009 (Press release from Christmas in St. Michaels) -
Recently, the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of The Antique & Classic Boat Society, Inc. (ACBS) made a donation to Christmas in St. Michaels, which supports local non-profit organizations that serve the St. Michaels community. The ACBS is a non-profit, international organization that is very active in protecting the heritage of historic boats and in promoting the restoration of antique and classic boats.
The Chesapeake Bay Chapter of ACBS hosts a number of activities each year ~ including workshops, special cruises, and various rendezvous on and off the water. Of special note is the chapter’s promotion of Youth Development through education, hands-on training, and financial support. In addition to bringing an impressive display of antique and classic boats to the annual Christmas in St. Michaels event, the Chesapeake Bay Chapter also sponsors the mid-Atlantic Annual Boat Show and Festival each Father’s Day weekend at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM). This summer event ~ one not to be missed ~ is the largest of its kind in the region This year, in conjunction with the Annual Boat Show and Festival, the chapter will also host the Summer Quarterly Meeting for ACBS International, June 19-21, at the CBMM. Christmas in St. Michaels extends its sincere appreciation for the donation from the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of ACBS.
