Possibly our Best-Ever Oktoberfest [Despite the Rain]
October 2009 — Another soggy weather weekend is no deterrent for boaters, especially those of us who have enjoyed Tom & Marcia Auth's hospitality every year for this great event. Several things made this year's event really special, however, despite the lack of sunshine.
- Great food, with lots of help in the kitchen as well as on the grill
- Extra tents so we could really take the party outside despite the rain
- New faces: welcoming new members as well as guests
- "New" old boats, like John Wilmot's Matthews that he let us tour after dinner
- Great friends and conversation, and a chance to get to know each other a little better
