SEA SKIFF SEAMAN by Outboardman.
Among our many boat owners' boats, there are a few that are actually used and see real service. In this case, intrepid fisherman Dave Konick of Virginia actually goes 30 miles out into the open ocean and catches great fish. He even threatened to bring some to my house! What he does with his boat is so different than the usual varnish-and-display routine that I think he deserves a special reward.

When you think about offshore fishing one thing immediately comes to mind…a major outlay of $$.
Meet Dave Konick, who doesn’t need a 30' custom sport fisher, a big name charter, or really a whole lot of anything. He’s got what a lot of us have forgotten.
For David, his 1954 Chris-Craft Sea Skiff is his "ocean cruiser", and he's not afraid to take her offshore some 30 miles, where he rips the tuna from the sea.
Dave idolizes the past and lives for the day, with an extreme passion for adventure. He knows how to find happiness in the simple pleasures and seems to be a model “Huckleberry Finn” in today's world.

We're Ramping Up for the Baltimore Boat Show at the Convention Center Jan 27-30 |
|

The dramatic display of our members' classic boats and motors last year in the Charles Street lobby of the Baltimore Convention Center was such a hit that we've been invited back again. This year our display at the Baltimore Boat Show will feature racers & pre-war boats.
2011 event chair Steve Izant will be sending out more information soon about our plans for the event. If you want to get involved in the meantime, send us an email or call Steve at 443-254-6771 . |

Congrats to EVP Joe Sibilia, now a 1st time Grandfather |
|
Our Chesapeake Bay Chapter's Executive VP, Joe Sibilia, got some great news this holiday season: He's now a grandfather. Here's a pic of little Maya.

When we commented about what a pretty baby she is, her proud Grandpa said "I think she's a pretty baby, too. But I also know that she could look like Yoda
and I'd think she was lovely. I'm thrilled, and smitten..."
