Maryland Family Magazine ...Members of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society will display a number of finely restored classic wooden boats. The boats on display will include a 1927 Chris-Craft runabout and a 1947 Ventnor Class E runabout named "Hurry Home," which got its name at the height of World War II when coming home was on the minds of soldiers and their families. Visitors can experience the restoration process first-hand and talk with ACBS members and local restorer George Hazzard of Wooden Boat Restoration in Millington. Lovingly restored powerboats, ranging in size from a small outboard to a top-of-the-line, three-cockpit runabout, give you the chance to see a bit of history up close and offer insights into the long and storied tradition of boating on the Bay. The NMMA Baltimore Boat Show "If you are keen on antique boats, classic wooden boats owned by members of the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique & Classic Boat Society (ACBS) will impress you." Oceanshaker	A Great Way to Take Advantage of Your ACBS Membership CBC members Ray & Della Glenn attended the 2008 event with their 1959 Lyman, "Della Louise". October 2009 — One of the privileges of being an ACBS member is the opportunity to participate with like-minded fans of classic boating in our fellow chapters' events. Plan to spend this Saturday, October 3, enjoying a day of food and fun at the 11th Annual Fall Boat Show and River Cruise in Wrightsville, PA. This is a low-key event, with a warm and comfortable atmosphere of friends and boating hospitality. Held at Long Level Marina, owner Dick Hickman (one of the Philadelphia chapter’s members) enjoyed smothering us with every kind of attention that a club member could ask for. While you are at the helm, each trailered boat is launched via tractors by two or more of his marina staff (so they’ll get wet, not your wife). Last year Dick also had additional staff members who assisted when the boats came out of the water, to prevent any boat damage. Ask to ride in someone else’s classic. Last year everyone got a boat ride. The boat’s owner is a friend of Chuck’s and had one too many boats at last year’s show to drive them both simultaneously. So he threw the key for this one to Chuck, who picked up two more attendees and had a blast!
